The app currently requires recent and quality Satellite imagery to mark pitch corners for the heat mapping and other map stats.
It would be useful to be able to stand at the corners and use the GPS to mark the tie points.
We had this implemented in an early prototype of a watch app. We found that when you request a single point for the corner the GPS accuracy was often unreliable and could completely throw off the dimension of the pitch. When you are recording the GPS points constantly the accuracy improves considderable.
Hi Luke, GIS is actually my areas of specialty and this is obviously an issue that handheld GPS data loggers suffer with. The remedy is to sample the position taking several readings over a period of 5-10 seconds and averaging them to a single location.
I would be happy to consult on this particular feature.

Couldn’t it be done from the phone and not the watch during pre-game or post game?
In our area they move field positions each season to save the grass. Satellite images are rarely accurate.
I’ve gone to a lot of games recently on newly built 4g pitches and after the match the satellite imagery just shows a construction site so something like this is definitely needed
